Damian Gorman

Chief Credit Officer

Speciality: Credit and portfolio management, deal structuring, asset based finance.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Economics Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

Experience: Damian has over his career had a broad range of experience in senior management and executive roles in Australia and abroad.

Following completion of an economics degree, Damian joined Price Waterhouse in 1986 completing his professional qualifications as a Chartered Accountant in 1987. He led teams in Sydney and Toronto Canada undertaking audit and business performance reviews for major corporate customers across a range of industry sectors. Damian joined Westpac in 1995 as a senior credit executive with responsibility for developing and improving the level of reporting to the Bank’s Executive Committee, Board and external parties. As Director, Westpac Institutional Bank, Damian successfully lead teams responsible for researching and developing credit and marketing strategies for existing and prospective customers.

Damian joined Capital Finance in 2003 with responsibility for the Asset Finance (AFD) book which included structuring deals, setting risk appetite and portfolio management. He was promoted to the AFD Executive and had general management responsibility for national risk and operational functions. To broaden his executive capability Damian graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2006 and completed an executive management program at London Business School in July 2009.

Damian joined Assetinsure as Group – Head of Credit in 2012.
